Hipsters In Space

 

 

 

Last year I drew a couple of illustrations of space probes for pratice. I got carried away and collected little facts about some of them. So this year I thought it would be fun to make a little zine out of the work I did. It's 1 A4 sheet of card folded into 8 A7 pages which fold out into a poster. I had a lot of fun drawing all the stars on each copy.

What's The Time Mrs. Woolf? Spring 2013

I draw regular Stale Symphony comics for What's The Time Mrs. Woolf? This is a preview from the latest issue which was released in May. You can buy issues of Mrs. Woolf? from Sarah Fogg's Etsy Shop.

The zine has changed recently and is going to be released quarterly instead of bimonthly. They have an open submissions system for women if you're interested in submitting illustrations, comics, articles, puzzle pages or anything you would like to read in a zine! Oh My Glob Perzine! - Lumpy Space Princess Fanzine

This month I made a Lumpy Space Princess fanzine for fun. I've printed copies on purple card with hand drawn gold and yellow stars on the covers. They're now available from Etsy.

2002 on Free Comic Book Day

This is a comic I drew over winter but the project its for appears to be on hitus. It's free comic book day today so I thought I'd share my submission online for free. I don't think blogger is very good for reading comics on so I have also uploaded the pages to a webcomic host site for easier browsing.

Mixtape Anthology

Mixtape is a new anthology created by Inspired comics collective. I had a lot of fun collecting comics made by friends and then organising the order. The members were not set a theme so the process really did feel like choosing the order of a playlist or mixtape to give to someone. The cover illustration is by Sarah Fogg followed by sample pages from comics I drew for the book.

Inspired Comics will be taking the book to sell at Bristol Comic Expo, London MCM Expo and Manchester MCM Expo

Giant Rhinos IN SPACE 2013 Summer Blog

I'm hoping to spend some time this summer working on Giant Rhinos In Space. It's a 'graphic novel' project I started writing when I was at university. You can follow the project blog on blogger or tumblr. This drawing is of Annie (front right) and her alien band.

Inspired Anthology 2013 - Music Wars

I've been working on 2 short stories for this year's Inspired Anthology. This is page 1 from Music Wars. The story follows teenage twins Ted and Tim as they enter their first battle of the bands style competition.

This is a new character designed for the story and some new outfits for the twins.

The twins first appeared in Smoothie Wars which is available to buy as a mini comic but originally ran as a webcomic for free. Food Wars featured in our Eat Me! food themed group anthology last year

Inspired Anthology 2013

I've been busy over March and April working on a couple of different short story comics for printed anthologies. I'll post more information and previews when they're announced.

I'm also compiling a new group anthology with Inspired comics collective. These pages are from The Melody Of Life written by Laura McNulty and illustrated by myself. The printed book should be available at Bristol Comics Expo, London MCM Expo and Manchester MCM Expo

What's The Time Mrs. Woolf? #8

Inspired Comics will be in the Comics Village at Birmingham MCM Expo next weekend. What's The Time Mrs. Woolf? will be bringing new issues of the zine that were created in the winter months.

Inspired have also confirmed tables at Bristol Comics Expo and London MCM Expo this May.

Last year I created another cake themed Stale Symphony comic for What's The Time Mrs. Woolf? Issue 7. I added a extra recipe page to go with the story. What's The Time Mrs. Woolf? have recently set up a Tumblr page.

The new zine and back issues should be available from the next event we attend with Inspired Comics. You can find us in the Comics Village at Birmingham MCM Comic Con at the NEC on the 16th-17th March 2013.
